This is why Wildcraft, an indie boutique specializing in self-care rituals that are non-toxic and completely organic is the ideal spot for your skin and your soul. To learn more about how Wildcraft prioritizes ethical and sustainable sources handcrafted products we met with owner, Holly Thorpe for a quick Q&A!
Tell us a little bit about how and why Wildcraft was founded?
My name is Holly Thorpe and I founded Wildcraft in 2015. We opened our doors in early 2016 to fill a niche in our community to share naturally effective, plant-based products that elevate our daily self-care rituals. This is my passion and I was tired of shopping online for an impersonal experience, or only being able to smell a scent, or try a product in person when I was traveling to other cities. Why not create my personal heaven right here for us all to enjoy?!
Why is green beauty so important?
It is important to me because it’s speaking to a very important, larger picture… It’s saying that I care what goes on and inside my body, I care about our planet, and I care about you, my customer. Going deeper to understand the intention behind brand makers while they maintain the integrity of the plants and the earth (with transparency in their sourcing) is all infused into their creations. That energy and effectiveness is then transferred to us, and that feels like Love to me. And I believe that self-care and self-love go hand-in-hand. Plus, it’s gotta work amazingly!!
What do you hope for the future of Wildcraft?
Just last month we just expanded into the space next door! We are the first zero-waste refill bar in Charleston. I want to give our community this resource because it feels responsible and loving to me. We currently have dish soap, cleaning spray, deodorant, body oil, facial toner, liquid soap body wash and hand soap, and shampoo and conditioner, with more to come! Come refill and reuse your containers, Charleston!
We are also now offering SkinWise holistic facial treatments to take education and the traditional facial experience to a deeper level. We want our clients to feel confident in their skincare ritual at home while transforming their skin using techniques like lymphatic drainage and facial massage. All customized to their skin’s unique story. The community response has been amazing and we are so excited to serve in this way!
I can see us adding more sustainable, eco-friendly home goods in the future!
